Rich public data — hard to use in practice

UK open data is valuable for prospecting and market analysis, but it is scattered across APIs and bulk files, formatted differently, and difficult to keep up to date. FHRS ratings live with hundreds of local authorities; Companies House publishes a separate register with SIC codes that do not map one-to-one to food hygiene business types.

Duplicate handling, address formatting, sector taxonomy (FHRS BusinessType + SIC codes) and county mapping.

Preserving data integrity: we avoid unreliable fuzzy matching between corporate entities and trading names. You receive verified trading premises alongside official corporate registrations, keeping your CRM records clean and auditable.

The founder

I am Pierre Le Maguer, a backend and data engineer based in Haute-Savoie. I previously built the French food service & hospitality data platform (aggregating national business registries and food hygiene inspections) and am extending that battle-tested architecture to the UK market with FoodProspect.

The service runs on dedicated European infrastructure with automated daily syncs against Companies House streaming APIs and FSA food hygiene registers. My work focuses on reliable APIs, large-scale data pipelines and products that solve a concrete business problem — not dashboards for their own sake.

FoodProspect is designed for teams who need accurate, official data without the overhead of building and maintaining their own data import setup.
